Stray Kids’ Hyunjin to return from his hiatus

The beleaguered idol will participate in SKZ activities again.

For the first time since JYP Entertainment announced that Stray Kids’ Hyunjin would be taking an indefinite hiatus, he appeared in the official music video for “Mixtape: OH.”

The single is part of the group’s Mixtape project, which also includes the tracks “Gone Days” and “On Track.” It follows their “Going Dumb” collab with Alesso and Corsak, as well as “WOLFGANG,” their final single from Kingdom: Legendary War (which they won).

Hyunjin’s name is also part of the cover art for “Mixtape: OH,” alongside the other members’ names. When the video was released, STAYs flipped out. They had spent the last few months begging JYP Entertainment for updates on his situation, to no avail. To say they were thrilled to see him in the video would be an understatement.

According to his agency, Hyunjin has settled things with the people who accused him of bullying them when they were kids. JYP Entertainment’s statement reads, in part, as follows:

“Regarding the past times in middle school where he gave people around him wounds due to his rough language, in February, he has met with the people who could confirm their identities, and apologized, resolving the misunderstandings and they have agreed to cheer each other on in the future.

Hyunjin has since been reflecting on the past and in order to look back on himself, he had stopped his promotions as a member of Stray Kids. During that period, he took the time to continue the volunteer activities and donations that he has been carrying out since the early days of his debut.”

JYP Entertainment added that Hyunjin will be rejoining Stray Kids next month and “he’s determined to promote with a more upright attitude and maturity.”

Welcome back, Hyunjin!
