Soloist Lee Hyun contributes to OST of new K-drama

Could more new material from him be on the way?

In March of this year, Lee Hyun renewed his contract with BigHit Music (formerly known as BigHit Entertainment).

He joined the company in 2005 as a trainee, and debuted as part of the co-ed group 8Eight in 2007. Lee Hyun promoted with the group for seven years, and moved on to form the duo Homme with 2AM’s Changmin when 8Eight disbanded in 2014. They eventually reunited in February to drop a new single.

Lee Hyun has also been active as a soloist under BigHit Music. After he renewed his contract with them, he opened a YouTube channel where he posts all sorts of vlogs. Sometimes he uploads ones featuring his BigHit Music labelmates BTS and Tomorrow x Together.

Meanwhile, he recorded “Deep Sadness” for the soundtrack of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce). World Star Entertainment, the production outfit behind the drama, praised his take on the song.

“It’s about anxiously waiting for a loved one, and his calm yet restrained vocals emphasize its sadness,” the company said in a statement.

Hopefully, that song will be the first in a long line of new material by Lee Hyun. Music lovers really missed the veteran artist’s soaring vocals, and they’re eager to hear more from him.
