Airline Discount For Seniors

One of the advantages of being a senior citizen is that you can get travel discounts.

Yes, there is a silver lining to being older. However, not every senior travel discount is better than what young people spend.

No generation has more free time than the elderly, and the tourism industry is well aware of this. Special deals are made available to seniors by hotels, excursions, airlines, and attractions. Unfortunately, they are frequently discounted in name only. The only way to know if you're receiving a good bargain is to do the numbers.

Although some airlines have eliminated their discounts for seniors, some including these four major airlines still offer discounts to senior citizens.

BRITISH AIRWAYS

Being 50 brings with it a few benefits, including the ability to join AARP. AARP members may currently save up to $200 on trans-Atlantic flights with British Airways.

This offer is valid for round-trip flights from specified U.S. gateways to the United Kingdom and beyond purchased by April 30, 2020.

The terms and restrictions for this deal state that "all reduced rates will be underlined with the phrase 'Discount.'"

AMERICAN AIRLINES

A corporate official confirmed to Money Talks News that American Airlines' senior discount policy is unchanged. For travelers over the age of 65, the airline offers reduced tickets on some overseas flights.

The airline recommends utilizing the advanced search option on its website to find such deals.

UNITED AIRLINES

According to United's website, this airline provides senior prices for specified locations to travelers 65 and older.

When booking a reservation, ask for further information on these prices. Alternatively, if you book via United.com, choose the number of "Seniors (65+)" from the "Travelers" drop-down option to indicate how many persons are eligible for any possible senior discounts.

DELTA AIRLINES

According to the airline's website, Delta may provide senior discounts in some areas. They are, however, not accessible on Delta.com.

Contact the airline directly to see whether you are qualified for a senior discount on your next flight.

The general sales and service department may be reached at 800-221-1212, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
