Feel-Good Movie Picks for Older Adults

We all love watching movies especially those that can make us feel better.

If you have a lot of free time but no tasks to do and it's too chilly to go outside, how about watching one of these movies to unwind?

In this post, we will present five of the greatest movies that we have chosen for you; they will undoubtedly prove to you that your time spent sitting on that couch was worth your time.

MY FAIR LADY

Liza Doolitle is a sassy Cockney street vendor. Professor Henry Higgins, a snobbish phonetics professor, recruits her as part of a bet and experiment in voice work. Is he capable of transforming her into a high-society lady? This is a romantic, life-affirming film featuring a wonderful performance from Audrey Hepburn.

This movie has many theater versions and is still even shown in many play theatres worldwide. Check it out and you'll never regret it.

COCO

This is a good film to watch with your grandchildren. It's incredibly motivating, and after seeing it, you'll undoubtedly have something to speak about.

The film also depicts a family-oriented Spanish culture.

A promising young musician named Miguel (voiced by newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) begins on an astonishing trip to the mystical world of his ancestors in Disney•Pixar's lively narrative of family, pleasure, and adventure. There, the charming trickster Héctor (voiced by Gael Garcia Bernal) becomes an unexpected companion, assisting Miguel in unraveling the secrets of his family's myths and customs.

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE

According to a New York movie critic, you won't find a better-acted or cast film than "Little Miss Sunshine." These performers (and their filmmakers, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris) understand how unspoken emotions may be more amusing than language or punchlines, and how sorrow can be the source of the most pleasurable comedy.

This is a well played movie and a lot of movie critics like how the characters are portrayed. Little Miss Sunshine is an unique film that depicts family dysfunction in a realistic manner. The characters are complex representations of troubled individuals.

 MR. BEAN'S HOLIDAY

If you're looking for a nice chuckle. This is the ideal film for you. Mr. Bean never fails to deliver when it comes to making people laugh. You can always watch it again if you've already seen it. I've seen it twenty times and it still gives me that same fun.

Take a journey with Mr. Bean as he spends his vacation away from home, accompanied by Teddy, his beloved doll. Rowan Atkinson's persona is naively amusing and endearing. No words can explain how funny the movie is; just check it out for yourself.

HATCHI: A DOG'S TALE

If you are a pet lover, you can definitely relate to this movie. The movie is a true story and is an adaptation of the 1987 Japanese film Hachikō Monogatar.

Hachiko is a Japanese Akita dog remembered for his remarkable loyalty to his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, for whom he continued to wait for over nine years following Ueno's death. Hachikō was born on November 10, 1923, at a farm near the city of Ōdate, Akita Prefecture.

‘Hachi: A Dog’s Tale’ was filmed majorly in Rhode Island in the United States and a small part in East Asia.
