It’s no secret that Kim Seokjin of BTS is a huge MapleStory fan. Because of his love for the game, Nexon worked with them on a collaboration that was released in December last year. The company and the group put their heads together to create BTS-themed items for the game.

That first collaboration must’ve been a success, because Jin and Nexon are teaming up again for the Golden Hand Awards. This is Nexon’s first-ever character design competition, and it’s open to any users who have a MapleStory character above level 101.

Jin will be one of the judges, along with Maple Story’s art manager Oh Yoon Suk, designer Go Tae Yong, pixel artist Joo Jae Beom, and art part managers Kang Yo Soon and Shin Hye Young. Jin, for his part, is billed as a “MapleStory Warrior.”

The judges will look at various categories like costume, hair, pet, plastic surgery, and set, after which they will put 50 users throught to the final round. The winner will be chosen by the judges as well. Interested users can submit entries from July 8 to July 21, and the competition will crown a winner on September 1.

Jin has been playing MapleStory for 18 years and counting. When asked what he’ll bring to the table as one of the judges, he joked, “Because I’m handsome, I’m looking for artwork as cute and pretty as my face.”
