The Foo Fighters performed 'Get Back' with Paul McCartney at the 2021 Rock Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony on the night of October 30.
Dave Grohl and his band were among a handful of groups elected into the famous list of names in the Hall Of Fame this year during a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio. McCartney invited Foo Fighters onto the stage to close out the night's sequence of performances.
Following a medley of 'Best Of You,' 'My Hero,' and 'Everlong,' McCartney returned to the stage with the band to sing 'Get Back.' McCartney linked Grohl's career trajectory to his own in his address inducting the Foo Fighters into the Hall Of Fame.
"So when that occurred, and I fell into rock roll," McCartney added, recalling how he "heard some music and I went into rock roll." My band was called the Beatles. As I have stated, the world has changed. Dave did something similar. He joined a band called Nirvana."
"We had a lovely time with our groups," McCartney said, "but finally tragedy came and my group broke up." The same thing occurred to Dave. His group disbanded due to sad circumstances. So, what are you going to do now? That question was posed to each of us.
"In my situation, I thought, 'Well, I'll make an album where I play all the instruments myself,' and that's what I did." What should Dave do now that his organization has disbanded? He records an album on which he plays all of the instruments alone. Do you believe he's following me? ”
