SEVENTEEN, a 13-member group, will temporarily promote as 11 members in Korea due to the departure of Chinese members Jun and The8, who will return to China to take part in activities in their home country.
Pledis Entertainment issued an official statement explaining the terms of the agreement on September 1.
According to a press release, the company provides excellent support for both the group and individual activities of SEVENTEEN. They plan the members' Korean and international activities by investigating a wide range of opportunities for the members to participate in, with the goal of ensuring that the artists can enjoy their full potential as close to their fans as possible.
SEVENTEEN members Jun and The8 will focus on their activities in China from September to December as part of these efforts. They will resume their work in China that was halted by COVID-19 and spend time with their families after being separated from them for an extended period of time due to the pandemic.
Moving across countries and regions currently takes an inordinate amount of time and effort due to the severe challenges presented by the current situation on international and regional travel, as well as the requirement for self-quarantine, and Jun and The8 will continue their activities in China for the time being, having discussed the situation with the members of SEVENTEEN.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN will continue to promote in Korea alongside the other 11 members. They concluded the press release by requesting the fans' understanding and support in this matter. In line with this, they have confirmed that they will return in October.
