After WHYNOT Media found success with Light On Me, another Korean production company is venturing into the BL (boys’ love) genre.

Hanyang Works is putting the finishing touches on Peach Of Time, which is being touted as the first Korean-Thai collaboration. It will star Korean actor Choi Jaehyun and Mii2—a popular BL tandem in Thailand’s showbiz scene composed of actors Karn Kritsanaphan and Sittichok Pueakpoolpol.

The show will revolve around the afterlife. Karn Kritsanaphan aka Jimmy will play the title role of Peach, a 22-year-old Thai boy who flies to South Korea to meet his online friend Yunoh (Choi Jaehyun).

Soon after moving into Yunoh’s house, he realizes that his friend actually passed away in an accident two weeks before he arrived. The two decide to work together to figure out why Yunoh is stuck on this world, unable to move on. In the process, they meet another ghost—a Thai man named Mario (Sittichok Pueakpoolpol aka Tommy) who died during his first visit to Korea in the 1990s.

Jimmy and Tommy became popular among BL fans for starring in Why R U the Series, which was a massive hit not just in their home country, but in different parts of the world as well. But on Peach Of Time, they won’t be playing a couple. Tommy’s character Mario is in love with a Korean girl named Soojin. In fact, she’s the reason why he can’t move on even though he knows how to do it.

As for Jaehyun, he most recently appeared in the K-drama Run On, which is available on Netflix. Before that, he was in Sweet Munchies, where he played the male lead’s little brother who happens to be gay. Apparently, he had such a great time playing a gay character that he wanted to do it again, which is partly why he was cast as Yunoh.

Directed by Jang Euisoon and written by Yang Juhyeon, Peach Of Time will consist of 10 episodes. As of this writing, it’s unclear how long each of them will be. Some websites say the episodes will be 20 to 25 minutes long, while Hanyang Works’ site says each episode will run for up to half an hour.

The first episode of Peach Of Time will be made available in 11 Southeast Asian countries through WeTV on August 30. It will be released in South Korea later.
