CJ ENM finally reacts to rumors of IZ*ONE relaunch

Do you want to see the girls back together again?

On June 19, Korean news outlet Sports Kyunghyang rocked the IZ*ONE fandom with news that the much-loved girl group may reunite after their disbandment last April.

According to the report, most of the members’ agencies are considering a relaunch of the group formed through Produce 48, the third season of the Produce 101 franchise.

Back in April 21, WIZ*ONEs launched a fundraising project they called Parallel Universe. Their goal was to raise enough money to relaunch their ult group. Minutes after launching it, they raised 738 million KRW (about 650,000 USD).

In a recent update, the Parallel Universe project team revealed that an entertainment agency has been helping them negotiate with the agencies of all the IZ*ONE members. According to a statement they released on their web site, nearly all the members’ agencies have expressed a desire to relaunch the group.

However, CJ ENM (the parent company of Mnet, the network that aired Produce 48) quickly issued a statement of their own, saying that although discussions are ongoing regarding a possible relaunch, no decisions have been made yet.

IZ*ONE debuted in October 2018 with the single “La Vie en Rose.” After promoting for two and a half years, they officially disbanded in April of this year. Their last activity as a group was the two-day goodbye concert titled One, the Story.
