Pledis Entertainment to manage Idol School's fromis_9 again

Their former label turned management rights over this week.

Pledis Entertainment—home to actress Nana and boy groups NU’EST and SEVENTEEN—will be in charge of fromis_9’s activities from now on. It acquired the management rights to the girl group from its former agency Off the Record Entertainment.

The agency announced fromis_9’s transfer to their stable on its official web site.

Hello. This is Pledis Entertainment.

We would like to announce that as of August 16, Pledis Entertainment will serve as the management company for the group fromis_9 (members Baek Jiheon, Jang Gyuri, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, Lee Saerom, Lee Seoyeon, Park Jiwon, Roh Jisun, and Song Hayoung).

As part of the reorganization of Off the Record Entertainment, which managed fromis_9, the company, the artists and Pledis Entertainment engaged in a thorough discussion of the group’s future path and potential for growth, and the decision was made to transfer the management of fromis_9 to PLEDIS Entertainment.

fromis_9 will thus continue their activities as part of our company, which has been behind the production of the group’s music, from their debut album to their latest creations.

We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of fromis_9. We will spare no effort to ensure that fromis_9 can continue to thrive in all their activities and achieve their next level of growth as artists.

We ask that you continue to keep your eyes on fromis_9 and show them your support as they begin the next stage of their adventure with Pledis Entertainment.

Thank you.

fromis_9 was formed on the survival show Idol School, which aired on Mnet in 2017. Pledis Entertainment was involved in the group’s activities in its early days—led by its CEO Han Sung Soo, the agency was in charge of the group’s training and debut.

In 2018, fromis_9 member Jang Gyu Ri joined Produce 48, while the rest of the group promoted without her. They released their second EP titled To. Day as an eight-member group. She returned to fromis_9 after being eliminated from the show in 25th place.

In the wake of Produce 48, Off the Record Entertainment was born. The agency was established to manage the show’s winning group IZ*ONE, and they took over management of fromis_9 too. At the time, it seemed like a good idea, but Off the Record Entertainment ended up neglecting them because they were too busy with IZ*ONE.

Now that fromis_9 is under Pledis Entertainment again, their fans hope the girls will get the support they deserve.
