TV Shows and Dramas to Adjust Schedules Due to Tokyo Olympics Coverage

There would be some changes in the usual airing schedules of different dramas and TV shows in Korea to give way for the live coverage of the Tokyo Summer Olympics happening right now.

Major TV stations in Korea are adjusting their airing schedules to give way to the special live coverage of the Tokyo Olympics happening in Japan.

Some dramas would have to postpone airings of their next episodes, while some will change their timeslots and air the next episodes as planned. This also applies to several variety shows, which would either be postponed or changed into a later timeslot.

July 23

MBC's I Live Alone, KBS1's Be My Dream Family, and SBS's The Penthouse Season 3 will not be aired due to the full coverage of the opening ceremonies of the Tokyo Olympic Games, which will be aired by the big three TV stations in Korea: KBS, MBC, and SBS at 7:30PM Korean time.

July 24

MBC's Music Core and Hangout with Yoo will not air for three weeks starting July 24. KBS2 will not air Immortal Songs and the drama Revolutionary Sisters to give way to the live coverage of the Summer Olympics.

July 25

The Sunday lineup will also be changed due to the extensive live coverage of the Games. Thus, SBS's Sunday lineup, which includes Inkigayo, Running Man, All the Butlers, and My Little Old Boy will not air as scheduled. KBS2 will also postpone the airing of its new episodes of The Return of Superman and 2 Days 1 Night as part of their Good Sunday lineup for the same reason. MBC's The King of Mask Singer, Where is My Home, and Those Who Cross The Line: Master-X will also have to give way, and thus be canceled this week.

On the other hand, Revolutionary Sisters will air on a later timeslot, from 7:55PM KST to 10PM KST.

Fans would have to watch reruns of their favorite shows for the meantime. Music shows such as Inkigayo and Music Core might also hold their weekly #1 song announcements as well.

Stay tuned for more!
