ATEEZ’s Mingi is back after brief mental health hiatus

He stepped away from the group for a while to rest and recover.

After he went on hiatus last November to take care of his mental health, ATEEZ’s Mingi is finally returning to the group this month.

His agency KQ Entertainment made the announcement on July 18, saying that Mingi is doing well. According to them, he’s at a point where he can fully participate in his group’s activities again. Apparently they discussed his comeback at length with his parents, his therapist, and Mingi himself before they gave it the green light.

In a statement, the agency said, “Through counseling, plenty of rest, and his own constant efforts, Mingi has regained his health. In the first half of 2021, he participated in several schedules prior to his official return to the group so he can check his mental and physical condition.”

One of those schedules was the release of ATEEZ’s Kingdom: Legendary War track “The Real” on May 28. Although Mingi sat out the entire show, KQ Entertainment revealed in a post on the group’s fan café that he was involved in the recording of the song. Prior to that, Mingi participated in their latest album but didn’t join any of the promotional activities for it, or for the title track “Fireworks (I’m The One).”

Now that the rapper is back and better than ever, ATEEZ will be active as a full group of eight members again, much to the delight of their fans.

Speaking of which, KQ Entertainment’s statement ended with the words, “Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to ATINY, who have been waiting for Mingi. Thank you for the constant support you sent him.”

One of the first things Mingi did upon his return was to participate in a special selfie music video for their song “If Without You.” All the ATEEZ members filmed individually for it while they were in quarantine (as you may know, member San recently tested positive for COVID-19, causing the members to go into self-isolation).
